Floribunda: A Colouring Journal by Leila Duly is both glue and stitch-bound. It is hard-backed with a light pink cover with a black and white line-art print. The spine is covered with a black textured paper embossed with gold lettering. It also comes with a removable front sash with the title and artist in black and gold foiling.
On opening the book you are greeted with a full page illustration of Leila’s beautiful florals. The paper is a lovely cream colour and is good quality note paper rather than colouring book paper. On every fifth page there is small illustration of a single flower along with its name for you to colour, each taking approximately a quarter of the page. The rest of the pages are blank for you to write your own thoughts, notes or draw.
The illustrations are simple and pretty; and if you loved the beautiful flowers in Floribunda the Colouring book but are overwhelmed with the amount of detail and want something simpler to practice on, perhaps this will be more what you are looking for.
It is a beautifully made notebook and if you are looking for a journal this certainly fits the bill and is very pretty even if you decide not to colour the flowers.
I decided to colour this lovely Peruvian Lily in Prismacolor Premier Pencils.
I was kindly sent a copy by the publisher. All comments and opinions however are my own and are not influenced by this fact.
